Children's Health Insurance Coordinating Committee (CHICC)
In October 2006, CTK convened over 40 community & faith based organizations, education institutes, health plans, insurance brokers and agencies to coordinate and integrate health insurance outreach and enrollment activities to address gaps,duplication and disparities through activities; promoting best practice models for outreach, enrollment, utilization and retention; and provide leadership and advocacy at local level.
The goals of CHICC are:
- Increase children’s access to health care, including early health and development screenings.
- Increasing the efficiency of community, neighborhood, and direct service programs engaged in outreach, enrollment, and retention efforts.
- Increase communication, collaboration, integration and cooperation of health insurance enrollment activities in the county.
- Identify and support efforts to reduce duplication, gaps, disparities and inefficiencies in health insurance enrollment assistance services.
- Build upon programs already in place with the local Department of Health and Human Services.
CHICC Meetings are held on a quarterly basis on the 2nd Tuesday:
