Cover the Kids (CTK), Sacramento's Children Health Initiative believe that ALL children deserve access to affordable comprehensive health coverage.
In Sacramento County alone, approximately 26,000 children ages 0-18 that does not have health coverage. About 2/3 (17,300) of these children are actually eligible for current subsidized programs such as Medi-Cal and Healthy Families but are not enrolled. And about 8,600 are not eligible due to citizenship status.
CTK staff are focused on reaching families throughout Sacramento County with children who are eligible for subsidized programs including:
- Medi-Cal
- Healthy Families
- Kaiser Permanente's Child Health Plan
- Healthy Kids (Now available in Sacramento County)
- Access for Infants and Mothers (AIM) Program
Citizenship is not required for some programs.
